Getting there and around
Airplane The Innsbruck Airport, 3 km (2 mi) west of Innsbruck, has direct links with Vienna, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Bolzano, Rome, Rotterdam, Hanover, Antwerp, London Gatwick, Graz, Salzburg and Linz. Connecting flights by all international airlines. Buses (Line F) to the city center (Maria-Theresien-Strasse) take about 20 minutes, Taxis should take no more than 10 minutes into town.
Bus Bus Service to the surrounding Village Resorts and to South Tyrol – Buses are departing from the Bus Terminal at Innsbruck Main Train Station.
Train Direct trains serve Innsbruck from Munich, Vienna, Rome, and Zürich, and all arrive at the railroad station at Südtiroler Platz. Getting around:
Bus and Streetcar Most city bus and streetcar routes begin or end at Maria-Theresien-Strasse, nearby Bozner Platz, or the main train station (Hauptbahnhof). You can buy single tickets on the bus or streetcar.
Horse-Drawn Carriage Horse-drawn cabs, still a feature of Innsbruck life, can be hired at the stand in front of the Landestheater. Set the price before you head off.
Taxi In Innsbruck, taxis are not much faster than walking, particularly along the one-way streets and in the Old City.
